  Psalm
General Thelema Posted by Xnoubis on May 18, 2000 @ 10:44 PM
from the my-theophany-valentine dept.

I walked on pavement
Beyond this: sand, whipped randomly by dry winds
No melody was carried by the air, nor any voices but my own
Whipped randomly by dry winds
It was a lightning flash, I believe, that sent the cyclone spinning
Only then could there be a question

If there is a riddle, must there not also be a Sphinx?

If He is One, how may we share?

My Lord, abide awhile with me
Great is my folly, that I in shame would hide my nakedness from Thee
Thus I am cast into the outer darkness
Empty is my ambition, that I in pride would summon Thee
Thus I am dissolved in light
Yet I do not go where Thou art not
Be Thou with me,
And each pulse shall be as a draught of nectar to my eager soul
Nor shall I draw any breath that is not suffused with Thine incense

My thoughts as trees,
My senses as flowers,
My memories as grasses,
All stretch to meet Thy golden light, for our life's blood,
and to sing praises of Thy glory.

    This is fantastic, wonderful!
A completely new and robust appreciation of the Sun has infused my life in the past few months. (Must be the season!)
The Sun is my idea of the Physical Manifestation of God. Yes he is God to me.
And I love him and sing Resh to him every day...

    Thanks for your poetry.

Superb religious poetry! This is sure to fit in a ritual somewhere (and inspire us all to song). Great work :-)
