  Xtians Cower Before Pagan Nation!

Weirdness Posted by <Xnoubis> on Friday September 15, @02:50PM
from the fish-out-of-pater dept.

Little lost lambs of God strayed into this year's Burning Man festival, and they didn't like it one bit. Thanks again to <Kallah> for spreading the, ah, Good News.

Actually they didn't “stray” in; they came knowing full well what they were coming to witness, and intending all along to pen the hatchet job which then resulted. This is quite clear from the article itself.

Hmph. Amusing. We see what we want to see, I think. The other night I saw a show on PBS entitled “Play” that focused on creativity. They showed at least 15 minutes of non-apocalyptic footage from Burning Man. Lots of clothed people being weird but certainly not walking the highway to hell.

“I had to admit that the Christian values we have long cherished in the West are being extinguished.”

And not a moment too soon. They did indeed find what they came to find, these reporters; what they did NOT find was anything remotely resembling The Point.

Seem to recall this is actually referring to last year's Man, or maybe even the year's before – I know I read this article (or one just like it, even down to the viewing the scene and weeping) last year at least… Plus que ça change…

I found this article to be hilarious. I was damn near crying I was laughing so hard. I was at Burning Man this year with a few other Thelemites and I can attest that it was nothing like what was reported. What I witnessed was creativity at its most extreme and people having spiritual experiences through expressing themselves in new forms. The whole experience was quite amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
