  Alan Moore

Art Posted by <Xnoubis> on Wednesday October 18, @11:33AM
from the try-to-remain-comics dept.

There's a great article over at Salon reviewing the career of comics writer Alan Moore, author of Promethea, V for Vendetta, and other Thelema-tinged works.

Terry Gilliam is still considering adapting Moore's Watchman into a movie, by the way, but says he “won't direct the movie if I'm not allowed to make a 12 hours film.” Before that, though, Gilliam will be filming Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, also of interest to Thelemites.

Excellent job bringing this important author to the thelemic public's attention.

I well remember his saying in an interview that coming out as a magician was far more painful for his social standing than when he came out as a gay man - I thought this was extraordinary at the time but having been pilloried and referred to as a cultist at my last place of work, I see his point somewhat!

His writings have always been inspirational for me so right glad am I that he seems to be getting some recognition - really reccomend his last novel, though the title evades me - a magickal history of Britain - excellent.

Regards

TJ
