  Coin of the Realm

Magick Posted by <Xnoubis> on December 08, 2000 @ 10:15 PM
from the pennies-from-heaven dept.

There's a simple set of elemental attributions that I seldom hear mentioned, although I find them extremely useful. They're right there in 777, but no one pointed them out to me; I had to discover them myself. Maybe it's because they're too basic to seem interesting.

I'm referring to the correspondences between the five senses and the five elements:

We touch the Earth.
We smell the Air.
We taste the Water.
We see the Fire.
We hear the Spirit.

These five senses are our connection to the present moment. They are a pentagram of gateways to the Kingdom. The pantacle of Malkuth. The coin of the realm.

**Pentagrammaton of the Senses**

Sing the rapturous love-song unto me! Burn to me perfumes! Wear to me jewels! Drink to me, for I love you! I love you! (i.e. auditory, olfactory, visual, gustatory, tactile)

“The Eucharist of five has for basis wine for taste, a rose for smell, a flame for sight, a bell for sound, and a dagger for touch. This sacrament is implied in the Mass of the Phoenix in a slightly different form.” –Liber IV, Pt. III, Ch. 20
