  'His Deadly Wound was Healed'

The Beast Bay website Posted by <Xnoubis> on Friday January 19, @07:04PM
from the united-fugue-states dept.

In a tribute to the inaugaration, The Beast Bay was completely dysfunctional for most of the day. Words can't describe how sorry we are.

Is George Bubbleyou Wuss another Amfortas? I thought that was Reagan; after all, he survived the “zero year curse”. Will George Bubbleyou?

I was rather thinking of Rev. 13:3, KJV. In Parsifal terms, the whole Republican party is Klingsor writ large.\\

I must be the only Thelemite who voted Republican and actually looked into the issues and the positions of candidates rather than meekly eating whatever the media was spewing during the election and afterwards.

What a shame.

Well, the next two years ought to provide a good opportunity to separate the rhetoric from the reality…\\

Yes you should be.\\

Actually, I looked into issues and positions, ignoring all mediaspew…and voted Harry Browne. But I'm a Libertarian. Now this Republican has been “elected” and wants to put his laws on my wife's body. Pardon me for not cheering.\\

I did the same - voted Libertarian :-). My\\
husband is also the county chair person for the\\
Libertarian party here in our area. He and I\\
both look at everything very closely ourselves\\
and we ignore the media spew here as well.\\

I'm guessing a higher percentage of Thelemites voted for Harry Browne than people of any other creed. Compare HB's suport for freedom of religion with Bush's never-retracted statement that he doesn't consider wicca a religion (said in the context of criticizing the Army's decision to create a chaplain's position for the wiccans in the service). I suppose the “Reverend” considers it a media distortion to quote the man, or maybe he just doesn't like wiccans so it's okay to disregard them :-)\\

I don't have a problem with a candidate having their own views on religion; if anything, I'll applaud Bush for being honest. I don't expect my elected officials to hold the same opinion I do on every subject, and have enough faith in the courts and the system at large to not sit around worrying about people kicking down my door.\\
\\
I don't consider the Libertarians a viable election choice either, and ended up going for what I felt most compelled to vote for.\\
\\
Guess that makes it perfectly acceptable to go for my throat; have fun.\\

Your throat wasn't posted, just your ideas. OK if some of us disagree with them?\\

I wanted to clairify something about the reason we are members of the Libertarian Party. We've been active in this party for several years now. We support the Libertarian's views on the failed drug war, the gun issues, taxes and many other issues as well. Religion had nothing to do with our being apart of this party at the time we joined forces with them. I do support Bush's right to speak his mind as I would anyone else's as we also support
freedom of speech.
