  A Day in the Life…

Drugs Posted by <Marfiza> on Tuesday January 23, @02:33PM
from the herbi-et-orbi dept.

In the same day, I hear news that the DEA wants to ban hemp foods and cosmetics because they cause people to test positive in drug screening tests, and from the other end of the world, that Belgium has followed through on its plan to legalize marijuana possession and use and it's really only a matter of time before the rest of the EU (except for the UK, naturally) follows suit.

The irony was not lost on me; nor was the feeling that the US is going to look even more idiotic in international eyes, as if that were possible.

And what is even more amazing to me – most Americans think that the world views us as the most enlightened and freest nation on earth. Talk about out of touch! :-)

I'm still waiting for crazed lunatics to hang out of airplanes and start spraying the crowd with lead–like they did in the good ole prohibition days. The U.S. needs nothing short of another depression to realize why hemp should be legal.

Great site, though its news is less than encouraging. Thanks for the information. I got a bunch of “sorry we don't have time to read all this” responses and this little ditty :\\
