  An Evening on Eco-Psychology

Community Posted by Carl Kohler on Wednesday May 23, @12:53AM
from the shrinking-world dept.

Mons Abiegnus Oasis OTO presents, as part of its “Monthly Lecture Series on Esoteric Spirituality,” a lecture:

Eco-Psychology: An Exploration of the Essential Healing of Humans and Nature

Eco-Psychology integrates the inner exploration of the psyche with a deep awareness of the human relationship with the natural world. It offers an alternative perspective on the causes of problems faced by most people, problems such as anxiety, depression, addiction, alienation. It also offers a refreshingly optimistic view of the opportunity for healing individually and collectively. As part of the presentation the speaker will offer suggestions on how to engage the restorative and regenerative capacities of the natural world for psychological and spiritual growth.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion if the audience feels so inclined, and there will also be post-lecture tea, coffee, snacks, wine, and conversation.

The Mill Valley Masonic Center, 19 Corte Madera Ave (downtown Mill Valley, opposite the Fire Station, just down the hill from the cinema).

Date & Time:
Friday, May 25th, 8:00 PM.

A $5.00 donation to help defray expenses is requested.

For further information, or travelling directions, please phone (415) 339-8061.

This presentation on eco-psychology, a growing field, will be given by Alan Levin. Mr. Levin is a psychotherapist and wilderness guide, and Director of the Holos Institute, a center that provides counselling and clinical training in the eco-psychological approach to healing.

While not specifically Thelemic in the usual sense of the adjective, this is a topic felt to be of interest and of relevance to all, particularly in the times and conditions in which we now live.
