Concentration Camps Children

Dear Friends:

Si Valetis, Valeo

The political climate we are under right now depresses me in the most profound way. I like to believe that deep down inside, people are essentially good. But on days like these, I am reminded how, since time immemorial, we have judged people and create hierarchies of human worth. You see it everywhere. It involves color, sexual or religious preference, how much money one makes, even to the extent that someone must determine whether someone else, someone that the person in charge of judging neither knows nor cares if that person deserves to be helped when they are at the end of their rope, etc…

It is the official position of the Thelemic Church of Alexandria, and by extension, the Order of Thelemic Knights that the barbaric practice of separating children from their families, must be stopped immediately. And that this inhuman practice should not be used to punish parents too desperate, in too much danger, or too broke to follow the lengthy and expensive process of immigration. Instead we ask that the path to immigration be rewritten to prioritize individuals leaving their countries due to life and death situations.

We protest the notion that children can or should be used to punish the parents for their transgressions, legal or otherwise. Children are at the mercy of their parents and the practice of punishing them to prevent parents from fleeing for their lives must end today.

We knowledge the tremendous psychological damage and the tremendous difficulties that will be follow these young victims into their adult lives.

We ask for our members, followers, fans, and anyone else with the intelligence and compassion to understand how this runs against The Law of Liberty to do what they can to stop this situation today. Whether it is by writing letters, sending faxes, or holding up a sign in front of a government office on a rainy day to exercise the power given to them by their personal deity to make a difference here. To draw a line. To say, not while I am here.
