Artemis to Pan

Artemis to Pan

by Sister Beth Kimbell

A Paean to my Satyr; a tribute to Aleister Crowley

Insatiable Satyr
Lover of nymphs and whores

Of Mountainous Wilds
Sired on Hermes’ tours,

O my goat-footed god,
Thine pipes entrance all…

The hypnotic, chaotic,
First notes of your call!

By the light in the meadow,
Piercing clouds on high

See affront, fill my cunt
On horn, let fingers fly

To the forest of darkness
Fruitful vine you stoke

By the twitch of the witch
I invoke, I invoke!

By the flight into whimsy:—
Rent the blood queen’s vault,

With vim and with quim,
Your vim would not halt,

The sanguine signature—
Sacred serpents entwine,

The night of delight
You were mine, you were mine!

You were mine, O my mate,
My master, my priest,

By the thrill of the skill
Of the Will toward our feast.

As I gorge, as I fete,
As I suck, as I stroke,

By the flood of my blood
I invoke, I invoke!

By the heavenly coupling
Of Satyr and Whore

Ascending, transcending—
A secret tryst we swore

A numinous union
I am enthralled, awed,

By aesthetic, kinetic,
Never-failing rod!—

O my goat-footed god,
Thine pipes entrance all…

The hypnotic, chaotic,
First notes of your call!

No divinity could tame him,
But love did provoke—

Horned and horny Hunter
I invoke, I invoke!
